Jack Royce Swicegood, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the NC State Veterans Home in Salisbury.
Jack was born in Salisbury on February 13, 1931, to John Earl and Ora Skinner Swicegood, the youngest of eight children. He graduated from Spencer High School, Class of 1949.
Jack is survived by his wife of 73 years, Peggy Smith Swicegood; his son Scott; plus, his nieces and nephews who have been his angels: Carol, Deborah, Libby, Patty, Linda, Nancy, Kaye, Brian, Joe, Karol, and Leslie.
A US Navy Veteran, Jack served in the Korean War era. He retired from Frank Carter Company in Atlanta as a regional sales representative in the sporting goods business. He was a lifetime member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
A graveside service will be held at the Bethel Cemetery on East Ridge Road at 3:00 pm on Monday September 30, 2024, with Pastors Carl Rosenberg and Carroll Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church, at 355 East Ridge Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
