James Robert Diffenderfer

James “Jim” Robert Diffenderfer passed away in his home in China Grove on October 31, 2024, at the age of 79.

He was born on September 14, 1945, in Rowan County. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering and went on to be an Engineer at Proctor Chemical Company. Jim was an avid gardener who loved to share his crops with local restaurants, especially La Cava Restaurant in Salisbury. He was an Army veteran who served in Nuclear Physics.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Terry Fish Diffenderfer who he was married to for 53 years.

Jim has no living relatives, but was loved by all his neighbors, especially by Barbara Heim and Linda and Jim Adams.

A service will be held on Wednesday December 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Following the service will be a meal at La Cava Restaurant at 329 S Church St, Salisbury, NC 28144.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of China Grove for Outreach Missions, 302 Patterson St, China Grove, NC 28023.
