Janet Elizabeth (Ryan) Carter

Janet Elizabeth Ryan Carter, age 69, passed away on June 18, 2025.

Born in Statesville, NC on August 21, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lamont Ryan, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Wands Ryan.

Janet worked at Laguna Sportswear and Sterchi’s Furniture. She was a homemaker. She loved her fur babies…raccoons, dogs, and especially cats. She never turned her back on orphaned or injured animals.

She leaves behind her husband of 40 years Allen W. Carter, Jr. “Buddy”, son Ryan, daughter-in-law Elisabeth and granddaughter McKayla, whom she absolutely adored. She is also survived by her brother Robert Lamont Ryan, Jr., his son Scott Ryan and his wife Leighann of Columbia, SC, their children Ashland  Ada Ryan, three sisters-in-law, two nieces, one nephew, and best friends Marsha and Tim Hartzoge.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Franklin Baptist Church, 3810 US Hwy 601, Salisbury, NC 28147, officiated by Pastor Stanley Stodard. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
