Janet Bruner Gray, 90, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
Born in Rowan County on February 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Nettie Shackelford Bruner and James Palmer Bruner, Sr.
Janet was a graduate of Boyden High School and the Greensboro Woman’s College. She worked for the North Carolina Finishing Company and later in the office of Bamby Bakery. She was Protestant by faith. Janet was a past president of the Pilot International Club, volunteered with Dial Help, was a Master Gardener and enjoyed flower gardening, reading, and extended traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Southerland Gray, and brothers, Harvey Harris Bruner and James Palmer Bruner, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her companion, Dr. Fred Daniel Boyd of Salisbury; son, Stephen Bruner Gray (Athena) of Greensboro; daughters, Nancy Gray Wortham (Billy) of Henderson, Bonnie Gray Cobb (Neil) of Woodleaf and Karen Gray Foster (Ed) of Mt. Ulla; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2019, at Cleveland Town Cemetery with Pastor Mike Robinson officiating.
Following the service, the family will receive friends at the residence, 103 Tremont Drive, Salisbury, NC, 28147.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
