Jean Patton Hudgins, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at her residence.
Born in Danville, VA on July 4, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ola Octavia Summerlin Patton and William Melvin Patton.
Mrs. Hudgins attended Woodrow Wilson High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Kannapolis, NC. She loved her grandkids, kids, and husband so much. Mrs. Hudgins loved sharing Jesus with everyone, everywhere she went. She had the most infectious, loving smile and laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Clare Hudgins Long.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jesse Hudgins, whom she married on November 28, 1957; daughters, Brenda Newsome of Spencer, NC, Debra Ann Houston (Frankie) of Rockwell, NC, Eva Schumacher of Salisbury, NC, and Angela Michaels (Lee) of Lexington, NC; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Service: 2:00 PM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Central Baptist Church, 1810 Moose Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083 with Minister Dean Hunter and Minister Curtis Parker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
