Jerleen Basinger Adams, 85, of Cooleemee passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones.
Jerleen was born in Rowan County on February 4, 1937 to the late James Floyd Basinger and Ada Rex Basinger.
Jerleen, who was always known as a hard worker, retired from Grinnell Industries in Cleveland in 1999. She worked there for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the Mocksville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she was loved by all. She dedicated her life to her God, Jehovah in 1969 and has served him faithfully since that time.
She loved her family and spent a lot of time taking care of them and putting their needs above her own. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Roy Adams, and two brothers, Terry Basinger and Mikey Basinger, and most recently, her beloved daughter, Patricia D. Hancock.
Jerleen is survived by her sister, JudyWilliams; three children, John Dwiggins of Cooleemee, Tommy Adams of the home, and Darla Smyers (Bruce) of Mocksville; son-in-law, David Hancock of Mocksville; three grandchildren, Russell Hancock (Tiffany) of Mocksville, Joshua Smyers (Amber) of Roaring River, NC, and Anna Valentine (Seth) of Galax, VA, and six great-grandchildren.
Service: 3:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Mocksville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1304 County Home Rd., Mocksville, NC 27028 with Charles Hoose, Jr. officiating.
