Jerry Don Sowers

Jerry Don Sowers, 80, of Lexington passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Born in Davidson County on September 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Edna Hepler Sowers and Ben Reid Sowers.

A veteran of the US Army, Jerry was the owner and operator of Jerry Don Sowers Trucking Company. He was a member of Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Sowers and special friend, Harvey Potter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nell Sowers of Lexington, NC; son, Greg Sowers (Marsha) of Badin Lake; step-sons, Bobby Taylor (Ruth) of Lexington, Bo Clark (Lisa) of Lexington, Tommy Clark of Charlotte; daughters, Marie Barber (Adrian) of Lexington, Glenda Berrier (Larkey) of Lexington, Susie Bruner (Keith) of Lexington; step-daughter, Tina Taylor of Lexington; brother, Reid Sowers, Jr. (Josie) of California; grandchildren, Scott Hanes (A.J.), Joshua Barber, Brad Clark, Chris Taylor (Jeanette), Little Bob Taylor, Kim Taylor, Chad Taylor; great-granddaughter, Kristen Hanes; special friend, Jim Worley of Boone.

Service: 5:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church, 214 Andrew Sink Rd., Lexington, NC 27295 with the Rev. David Robinson officiating.
