It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jerry Donald Stephens Sr. at the age of 72 years. He passed after a lengthy battle with cancer on January 16th, 2023. Jerry’s deep seated love of life and his family kept him in high spirits through it all.
He will be lovingly remembered by:
Wife: Karen Stephens, of 5 years
Children and Step-Children: Donald Stephens Jr., Jeremy Stephens, Travis (Cyndi) Threatt, Wayne (Carissa) Lawler and Tony (Rachel) Scaffner
Grandchildren: Michael Stephens, Kelly Stephens, Deakon and Hazel Threatt, Ryland and Ivy Lawler, Caroline Scaffner
Brothers: Keith (Pam) Stephens, Gary Stephens;
as well as numerous additional relatives and friends.
His family will remember his generosity, calm and quiet spirit and gentle personality. He valued hard work, honesty, and family. Jerry was a proud veteran. He served in 54th infantry of the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He worked for Continental Tires and later retired from Charlotte Plastics. He enjoyed retirement through traveling, fishing and DJing at CFR. To his wife, he was loving and caring. He made it a priority to keep the romance alive, through cruising, camping and spending time with family and friends.
We will be celebrating his life Friday afternoon February 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM. A military service will be held graveside at 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard.
