John (Fred) Fredrick Leach, born on September 16, 1952, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, at the age of 72. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Fred’s life was one of service, love, and dedication.
Fred graduated from Boyden High School in Salisbury, NC, as part of the Class of 1971. He went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Air Force, showcasing his patriotism and commitment to protecting others. After his military service, Fred continued this legacy of dedication as a Federal Police Officer at the Bill Hefner Veterans Hospital in Salisbury, NC.
On May 12, 1979, Fred married the love of his life, Julia Hopkins Leach. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children: Jessica Leach Richie (Kevin Lester) and John (John) Fredrick Leach, II (April). Fred’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, whom he adored: Christopher Worth, Adam, Natalie, Jacob, Austin, DJ, Trinity, Logan, Landon, and Zach.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, John Frank (Frank) and Ruth Leach, whose loving guidance shaped the man he became. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and unwavering devotion to his family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Graveside services to honor Fred’s life will be held on November 12, 2024, at 11:45 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Fred’s life are invited to come together and celebrate a man whose impact was felt deeply in the hearts of many.
Fred’s memory will live on in the stories, smiles, and love shared by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
