John J. Whitt Sr.

John J Whitt Sr., 66, of Rockwell, NC passed away on Wednesday August 27, 2025, with his wife at his side. John was born June 22, 1959, in Pontiac Michigan to the late Douglas Woodrow Whitt and Mary Patricia Hoffman. He was a Christian man.

John graduated from Waterford Township High School in 1977 and went on to become the State of Michigan Master Mechanic

John was a mechanic for West Bloomfield Township Fire Department and also a volunteer White Lake firefighter for years. John was a proud member of the NC Patriot Guard Riders and took part in as many missions as possible.

John’s love and passion was motorcycles, fast cars, and anything he could customize. Nothing John owned was standard after he got done with it. John could build, rebuild, and fix anything on wheels. He loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Jami Whitt of Rockwell; sister MeShell Darden of Lapeer, Michigan; children John Whitt Jr. of Richlands North Carolina and Nicole Weisserman of Highland Park, Michigan; stepchildren Amber Johnson of Granite Quarry, Chandelle Wilson of Salisbury, and Trey Johnson of Pensacola, Florida; and grandchildren John Whitt III, Kendall, Greyson, Kade, and Rowen.

There will be a celebration of life held in John’s honor announced at a later date.
