John Leonard (Buddy) Williams, 90, of Salisbury left this life for a much better one in heaven on Thursday, November 28, 2024, Thanksgiving Day. He passed away peacefully at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury following a very brief decline in health.
Born February 10, 1934, in Rowan County, John was the son of the late J. Adam Williams & the late Annie Belle Aaron Williams Winders. He was preceded in death by his oldest son John & wife of 65 years, Doris.
John was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959. His Air Force career took him to Amarillo AFB Texas, where he was an instructor in the AF Petroleum School.
He & Doris enjoyed traveling, visiting 40 states & Canada. John delighted in long friendships with many wonderful people. He relished time spent with family, making memories with those he loved. He took pleasure in telling stories of his adventures, reading, & jigsaw puzzles. He was also an avid birdwatcher, eagerly awaiting the hummingbirds' arrival each April.
John is survived by his son Doug of Arden, NC; daughter Chris Casper (Darrell) of Salisbury; granddaughters Angela Williams, Shannon Casper, Brittany Hughes (Christian) & Abbey Williams (Wade Pugh); & great grandchildren Darren Williams, Marissa Williams, Sam Casper, Daisy Bowman & Isaiah Hughes.
There will be no visitation. A private military graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday December 6, 2024, at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Officiating will be Franklin Myers.
