Jonathan Nathan Boan, 47, of Charlotte, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on April 8th, 2026, at Novant Hospital in Huntersville, NC. He was born at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital in Concord, NC to parents Arnette Foster and Barry Boan on July 12, 1978.
As a child Jonathan loved to go fishing with his grandpa Boan and he admired his grandpa Foster, as he worked at the Air National Guard in Charlotte. He beamed when he said my grandpa worked on those big airplanes.
Jonathan attended Kannapolis City School. During his summer he enjoyed playing Little League Baseball and going on family vacations to Floria, the beach, and the mountains.
He was a 1997 graduate of A.L. Brown High School where he enjoyed Automotive and Shope classes taught by Mr. Bill Elliot. He was also a football player for the Wonder Football Squad under Coach Bruce Hardin.
After graduation Jonathan continued his education at the NC Truck Driving School, earning a degree to obtain his CDLs. He set his sights on traveling across the US in a Tractor Trailer.
Recently he worked for Weiser Security Services providing security for gated communities in the Charlotte area. He worked as a supervisor in the security field with other security services in the Charlotte area.
Jonathan was a kind and loving young man. He was loyal to his family and friends. He would open his home to friends that needed a place to stay.
He is preceded in death by his late mother Arnette Foster Lambert; maternal grandparents Jeff and Reva Foster; and his uncle David Foster.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father Barry L. Boan of Kannapolis; paternal grandparents Melvin and Helen Boan of Kannapolis; sister Chelsea Moore of Rockwell; and girlfriend Patrice Dugan of Georgia.
A celebration of Jonathan’s life will be held at Westover Church of God of Prophecy. 145 Westover Ave, Kannapolis, NC, on April 26 at 3:00 pm. The visitation will be at 2:00, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to memory of Jonathan to the Westover Church of God of Prophecy.
