Joseph Alan Parker, 92, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab.
Born in Pitt County, NC on February 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Gladys Thompson and Jesse Cleveland Parker.
Mr. Parker was a veteran of the US Coast Guard. He worked as a farmer for many years, then took care of his real estate properties. Mr. Parker was a loving father and husband and was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. He loved laughter and was an easy going man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deanie Church Parker, all of his siblings, his granddaughter, Heather Leigh Murray, and his ex-wife, Jennie Murphy Parker Alexander.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Paul Parker of Salisbury; daughter, Kim Parker of Salisbury; step son, Keith Simmerson (Lisa) of Churchland, NC; step daughter, Terrie Simmerson Couch (Rodney) of Mocksville, NC; step grandchildren, Andrew Couch (Hannah), Kaleigh Couch White (Shawn), and Adam Simmerson (Katherine).
A service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144 with the Rev. Dr. Steve Holshouser officiating.
