Lauri Jo (Goodman) Edwards

Lauri Jo Goodman Edwards, 56, of Salisbury passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, February 7, 2020.

Born in Beauford, SC on May 11, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Barbara Ruth Merriam Goodman and Monroe Alexander Goodman.

Lauri graduated from Dixon High School in Onslow County, NC and worked for over 20 years as a power meter reader for Olameter. In 1973, she won the 100 yard dash in the NC State Junior Olympics. She was an ASPCA member and animal lover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Melinda Brown and her favorite dog, “Mighty Dog”.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Mitchell Goodman and Bennie Goodman, both of Salisbury; cousins, Susan Merriam of Atlanta and Susan Sides of Salisbury; uncle, Greer Goodman of Salisbury; nephew, Charles Goodman; great-nephew, Caleb Goodman; great-niece, Izzy Goodman; best friend, Shelia of Concord and two dogs, Charlie and Lexus.

Graveside Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Salem Lutheran Church, 5080 Sherrills Ford Rd., Salisbury, NC 28147 with Pastor Dawn Rister officiating.
