Linda Kesler Canovai, age 74, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 26, 2021 due to rare form of Leukemia.
She was born on November 14, 1946 in Salisbury, NC to the late Eunice Carter and William Alfred Kesler.
She has a master’s degree from Appalachian State University and undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University. She was a proud member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Her passion in life was teaching. She made a huge difference in so many children’s lives as an elementary and Sunday school teacher. She believed that was her way of giving back.
She was a Southern lady with deep morals and values. As a devout Christian, she was a member of Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC. Her Grandmother instilled her strong faith for Jesus. A bible verse that was very meaningful to her from childhood was “Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelations 3:20.
Great memories were made during the decades of going to Hilton Head Island, SC with her family. She loved long walks on the beach and riding her bicycle for miles. She was proudest of outriding everyone even in her later years. Her ultimate joy in life began when she became a Grandmother. Her goal was to make as many memories with her Granddaughters as possible which she accomplished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice Carter and William Alfred Kesler.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Canovai of Charlotte, NC; son, Chad Peterson of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Kimberly Costanzo (Joey) of Atlanta, GA; brother, Al Kesler (Ginny) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Reagan Kate Costanzo and Madison Costanzo.
