Lois Willard

Ms. Lois Willard, 101, of Salisbury, NC passed away on Sunday May 29th, 2022. Lois was born on March 1st, 1921, in Davidson County, to the late William Henderson and Lillian Idell Smith. She was educated in Davidson County and a member of the First United Church of Christ of Salisbury, NC. Lois was employed at North Carolina Finishing Company and later at Quick as a Wink as a manger and seamstress where she never met a stranger. Outside of work she was always a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was a preceded in death by her husband James Grover Willard and her daughter Patricia Ann Connell; sisters Sudie Long, Mabel Ferree, Undiene Swicegood, Kathlen Smith, Willie Crowell, Blanche Logue, Beulah Swing, Nettie Maley, and brother Roy Smith.

Those left to cherish her memories, granddaughter, Kim Bowden (Jeff), grandson Chris Connell; great grandchildren Spencer Ann Brown (Ross), Chance Bowden, Addison Connell, and Carter Connell; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Private burial will be on June 15th, 2022, at 12:30pm at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Following the burial, the family will be at the home of Jeff & Kim Bowden (247 S. McCoy Rd, Salisbury) from 5:30 – 7:30.
