Louise Bello

Louise J. Bello, born May 6, 1941, died on January 21, 2024 at Novant Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.

Louise was born in Manhattan, New York to parents Louis and Helen G. Detrio. Mrs. Bello is survived by her husband, Richard Bello, her children, Laura Bello, Dawn Bello Thomas and Brandon Bello, her grandson, Blake Thomas, her son-in-law, Van Thomas, her sister Donna English, her brother Joseph Detrio, and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She graduated from Miami Senior High School and Lindsey Hopkins Technical College in Miami, Florida. She was a wife, homemaker, mother, a nature lover and a lifelong advocate of animal welfare.  She was recognized by the Humane Society of Rowan County for her efforts. She also loved the American west and supported a number of charities to benefit Native Americans.

A celebration of Louise’s life will be held at Northgate Church in Salisbury, NC on Saturday March 2nd. A time for family and friends to reflect will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Northgate Church is located at 1255 W Ridge Road.

Flowers can be sent to Northgate Church ahead prior to the March 2nd service. Donations will be accepted by the family for a memorial garden in her honor.  Charitable donations can be made, in lieu of flowers or donations, to the Humane Society of America.
