Mrs. Margie Robbins Hartley, 84 of Salisbury, NC passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023.
Margie was born May 2, 1938, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late William A. Robbins and Bessie Troutman Robbins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Carroll Hartley on November 5, 2018; brothers Johnny Robbins and Coy Robbins; sisters Hazel Jones, Doris Barbee, and Ora Mae Honeycutt.
Margie is survived by her daughters Carol (Dennis) Leahy and Kelly (Robert) Pierce; grandson Jason Everhart (Savannah Mathes); brothers Benny Robbins (Cathy), and Joe Robbins (Janice) and sister Mary Ann Adams, and very special niece Shirley Hoyle, as well as many loving nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Margie is also survived by her brother-in-law Charles (Becky) Hartley, nephew Michael Hartley (Huang Qiong) and their son, Rivers, and sister-in-law Linda Hartley.
Additional "family" includes her Weight Watchers community which she instructed during her twenty-five-plus career years. Margie touched many lives with her seamstress abilities by creating beautiful wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and countless alterations for many throughout the community.
Margie's passion for flowers, bushes, and all things that can grow was so beautifully on display for all in Providence Country to enjoy. Nothing pleased her more than sharing, and her "pass-alongs" that will continue to be enjoyed by many from the mountains to the coast.
The family will greet friends on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Landmark Church, 1910 Mooresville Road Salisbury, NC with a funeral service conducted by Rev. Mike Robinson to follow at 12 noon. Immediately following the service, burial will be at Union Lutheran Church, 4770 Bringle Ferry Rd. Salisbury, NC.
