Marvin Alexander “Pat” Jones Jr.

Marvin Alexander “Pat” Jones Jr. of Salisbury, passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 78 at his residence.

He was born March 15, 1945, to the late Ola Surratt Jones and Marvin Alexander Jones Sr. He graduated from North Rowan High School. He retired from Fiber Industries, as well as from the Salisbury Police Department and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department. He is also a past member of Community Baptist. Marvin was a member of the Piedmont Military Vehicle Restoration Group. He drove the Rat Patrol Jeep.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Gail Harkey Jones, married 12/5/1964, passed 11/4/2012, and his son Brian Lindsey Jones, passed 10/4/2015.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter-in-law Laura “Janie” Fesperman Jones; his grandchildren Brandon William Jones, Hunter Lindsey Jones, and Hannah Lauren Jones; his 2 great-grandchildren Paisley Brooke Jones and Mila Jayne Phillips.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:30 pm on Saturday March 9, 2024, at the Eastside Baptist Church, 370 Trexler Rd, Salisbury, NC. The service will be at 1:30 pm at the church. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Hunsucker. A burial will follow at the Rowan Memorial Park with honors from the Salisbury Police Department and Rowan County Sheriff’s Department

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to the Salisbury Police Department Foundation, 130 E Liberty St, Salisbury, NC 28144.
