Mary Ruth (Corriher) Carithers

Mary Ruth Corriher Carithers passed away at Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab on March 14, 2025, at the age of 80.

She was born on October 12, 1944, in Rowan County to the late Homer and Ida Corriher.

Mary worked in textiles for Lynn Corriher, Corriher Plant, and Parkdale. She loved working in her flower garden, doing missionary work, and was active in her church as a children’s teacher for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by Talmadge Carithers and Brandon Garmon.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother Larry Corriher (Coe); daughters Teresa Sawyer (Bobby) and June Whaley (Scott); granddaughter Elisabeth Garmon; and great-grandson Nathan.

A celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday March 23, 2025, at Christian Fellowship Church, 1501 Central Dr., Kannapolis, NC 28083.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to Christian Fellowship Church or to Samaritan’s Purse Donor Ministries, P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607.
