Mary Elizabeth Lyman

Mary Elizabeth Lyman, 20, of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her residence.

Born in Matthews, NC on November 19, 2002, she was the daughter of Lisa Joy Peters and James Michael Lyman, Jr.

Mary attended Gray Stone Day School and was a graduate of East Rowan High School. She loved playing volleyball and soccer, cooking fun foods and experimenting with new recipes, and had a special love for her cats. She also enjoyed eating strawberries and any type of dessert. Mary was very sociable and adventurous, and had a contagious smile and spirit, making friends everywhere she went.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Minor Williams Thompson and Shirley Thompson and cousin, Joseph O’Connor.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother and stepfather, Lisa and Bret Peters of Badin Lake; father, James Michael Lyman, Jr. of Salisbury; brother, Mikey Lyman of Salisbury; stepbrother, J.D. Hurst of Landis; sisters, Jessica Peters and Brittany Peters, both of Badin Lake.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146. Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Jeff Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, 8625 US Hwy 52, Rockwell, NC 28138.
