Maxine (Raney) Leonard

Maxine Raney Leonard went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2024, at the age of 87.

She was born on February 6, 1937, in Rowan County to the late Albert Lee Raney and Mary Viola Holshouser Raney. Maxine was retired from PPG Industries and attended Oakdale Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Wayne Leonard Sr. and her sister Geneva Nunn.

Left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters, Terri Freeborn (Rick) and Karen Holshouser of Salisbury; her 3 grandchildren Josh Freeborn (Misty), Megan Doan (Daniel), and Hannah Wyruit (Rae); and her 8 great-grandchildren Aaron, Maleeyah, Caleb, Carlee, Silas, Jacob, Rae-Rae, and Noelle.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Monday November 4, 2024, at the Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. The service will be at 11:00 am with Rev. Rick Freeborn (son-in-law) officiating. Burial to follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or Trellis Supportive Care (301 S Main St Suite 105, Salisbury, NC 28144).
