Michael Trexler Obituary

Michael “Mike” A. Trexler, 74, of Salisbury, NC, went to be with the Lord Friday May 24, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Mike was born on October 7, 1949, in Spencer, NC to Purcell and Ruth Trexler. He graduated from North Rowan High School in 1967. On July 6, 1967, Mr. Trexler enlisted in the Air force and served in the Vietnam War. After leaving the military he returned home and began his career in corporate sales.

For many years you would catch Mike and his family in the hot dog stand at Newman Park during American Legion Baseball Games. After retirement, Mike spent his time working for Quality Transport taking patients to and from appointments. Prior to his illness, Mike was a member at Milford Hills United Methodist Church in Salisbury. He was also a member of the Harold B Jarrett American Legion and frequently worked with the Meals on Wheels program.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Purcell and Ruth Trexler; his sister Judy; and his niece Traci Nichols.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Myra Barbee Trexler; his daughter Brandy M. Trexler (Danny Lipe) of Salisbury, NC; his son Christopher (C.R.) Trexler of Salisbury, NC; his 4 grandchildren Harley M. Dry (Faith Matthews) of Salisbury, NC, Trinity J. Trexler of Salisbury, NC, Brooklyn F. Trexler of Salisbury, NC,  and Jayten B. Snider (Savannah)  of Concord, NC; his 1 great grandchild Emerson Snider of Concord, NC; his sister Candace Nail (Chalmus) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his three brothers Steve Trexler (Carolynn Rabb) of Johnson City, TN, Jerry Trexler (Myraline) of Salisbury, NC, and Rodger Trexler (Tiease) of Charlotte, NC; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a Celebration of Life held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday June 25, 2024, at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Whidden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association (1300 Baxter Street, Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 282004) or the American Cancer Society (1901 Brunswick Avee, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207).
