Mildred “Mick” Atkins,82, of Salisbury went home to her Heavenly Father on June 30, 2021.
You may not have known Mick Atkins but if you did, she sure made your life a little bit sweeter. She was well known & loved throughout the community as the “cake lady.” Her home was always a warm one, a place to rest your head, get a full belly, or just a lot of smiles. Mick loved Jesus & animals, particularly watching her squirrels, birds & deer dancing in her own backyard, baking cakes from scratch, spending time laughing with her great grandchildren, Cameron Jordan and Skyler Smith and a gentle rain on a tin roof.
She leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Richard Atkins and their dog, Oliver. She also departed from her children, Cindy, & husband Mark Shepherd, Joe,& wife Phyllis Keener, Sharon & husband Steve Clontz, Debbie and husband Kenneth Austin, Norman Jr. And wife Hollie Jordan and Lynn, and wife Katrina Goodman. Also remaining are the 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mick’s legacy is more than enough for any good life and our appreciation and love for her shall never fade.
