Myrtle Wilson Leonard, 85, of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born in Rowan County on February 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Mary Viola Freeman Wilson and Thomas Theodore Wilson, Sr.
Mrs. Leonard attended Spencer High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Milford Hills Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Ray Leonard, who passed away on March 20, 2016; son, John Douglas Earnhardt; brothers, Thomas T. Wilson, Jr., Giles Ray Wilson(Pauline), and Wallace Luke Wilson; sister, Hazel Wilson Dorsett (Clyde).
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sabrina E. Kelley, Robin Thomas Basinger, and Kay Howard Rich (Joe); sons, Jerry Earnhardt and Rick Earnhardt; brother, Joseph Paul Wilson; sister-in-law, Donna Wilson; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Earnhardt, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and friends, Vernon Bennett, Dale Brown, Kim Walton.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Service will begin at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jim Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mert loved her family, her pets and God. She will be remembered for her caring and kindness to others.
