Patricia Ann (Kurfees) Hartsell

Patricia Ann Kurfees Hartsell, age 81, passed from this life on November 13, 2025 into the arms of God and is with all of her loved ones who proceeded her in death. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved.

Patricia was born on June 9, 1944, to Harold and Violet Karriker Kurfees, both of whom preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, John Harry Hartsell, on March 28, 1958. Though Harry left her in 2024, her love and memories of their years together remained a treasured part of her life. She was also preceded in death by her brothers John and Jerry Karriker, and June, Danny and Earl Kurfees, as well as her beloved daughter, Alesia Hartsell.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Tonya Hughes, and her husband, Mike, granddaughter Lindsea Scalzo (Matt), her precious great granddaughters Clara & Willa;  her son, Tony Hartsell, and his wife, Tricia, granddaughter Hillary, grandson Chase (Alexandria). She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Spry (Tim), Elizabeth Harris and her sister-in-laws, Debbie Kurfees and Edith Kurfees. Her many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, also carry her memory.

A dedicated and compassionate nurse, Patricia graduated from Rowan Cabarrus Community College with her LPN and retired after 32 years from Novant Health Rowan Medical Center — a job she loved deeply. She was passionate about her family, a gifted seamstress who created many beautiful quilts, an awesome cook and an avid lover of the beach and camping in her camper.

Her life was centered around her family, and her love and kindness touched everyone she met. She will be missed dearly but remembered forever.

We would like to thank Trinity Oaks for the love & care they gave her and our family  over the last years. 

There will be no public services. Instead, we plan to join together at a later date to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rowan Helping Ministries, Trinity Oaks Health & Rehabilitation or the charity of your choice.
