Patricia Lohmeyer Obituary

Patricia Ann Loveland Lohmeyer of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away on April 19, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born July 4, 1955, in Philadelphia County, PA, to the late Walter Loveland Sr. and Alma Place Loveland. Patricia was certified as a children's literature author, wrote historical and Biblical plays, and previously worked as a paralegal and a secretary. She was a gifted musician who could play several instruments, including a piano and a bass fiddle. In her teenage years, she played the bass fiddle in opening acts for many well-known country music artists.

Patricia was also a lifelong learner, and she shared her innate love of learning with her granddaughter (Jennifer). Patricia homeschooled Jennifer and implemented several early-learning initiatives, culminating in her granddaughter graduating from high school at age 16 with an Associate in Science degree.

Patricia was also an active member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, where she sang in the choir and in special groups such as the women's ensemble. For several years, she taught children's church and also oversaw a clothing closet and food pantry to help community members in need. She was always eager to offer a helping hand to others. She cooked entrees and desserts for church functions, weddings, baby showers, and more. All who knew her loved her homemade cakes and her ability to converse with friends and strangers, resulting in all feeling loved and included. Her grandchildren’s pets also found comfort in her company, as evidenced by her granddaughter’s cat and dog both sitting on her lap simultaneously.

Patricia was the loving wife of Robert Milton Lohmeyer, whom she married on February 1, 1975. She is survived by her three children: Robert Steven Lohmeyer (and wife Jodie) of North Carolina, Brian Matthew Lohmeyer (and close friend Marsha) of Virginia, and Heather Marie Grimm (and husband Myles) of South Carolina, in addition to her four grandchildren Jennifer Lohmeyer, Lily Grimm, Ian Grimm, and Oliver Grimm. She is also survived by her siblings Joanne Loveland of North Carolina, Walter Loveland Jr. (and wife Rene'e) of North Carolina, and Jimmy Loveland (and wife Kathy) of Virginia.
