On April 12th at 2:33 am Patricia Gail McGinnis Weaver closed her eyes and opened them in the presence of Jesus. She fought a nine-month battle with cancer before being carried to heaven on the wings of angels. Through her pain, Patty never stopped smiling and praising God. Just two weeks before her passing she attended worship services at her beloved church one last time.
Patty was born on June 23, 1952. She was educated at Boyden High School, graduating in 1970, and Salisbury Business College. She worked at the Capital Theater and Salisbury Drive-in. She and her mom ran an “in-home” day care center. Patty was a volunteer for the Women’s Shelter. She enjoyed Cross-stitch, Bingo, eating out with family and friends, and reading her Bible.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents Harry “Dick” and Muriel McGinnis. She is survived by her sisters Harriet Brown (Donny), and Jeannie Anthony, both of Salisbury; her daughter Jennifer Weaver Robertson and husband Jason of Salisbury; and grandsons, Jaden and Jasper Robertson. She is also survived by her treasured friend Howard Doby, Jr. “This is not goodbye, just see you later.”
The Patty Weaver family would like to thank Compass Healthcare, the Wallace Care Center, and Trellis Hospice Care for their excellent service.
The memorial service will be held at North Main Baptist Church, 1501 North Main St., Salisbury, NC at 11:00 am on Thursday April 16, 2026, with Rev. Dr. Dale Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am in the Sanctuary. Interment will be at Rowan Memorial Park. Lyerly Funeral Service is serving the family.
Memorial gifts may be designated to North Main Baptist Church, Salisbury, NC.
