Powell Tyrone Adkins

Mr. Powell Tyrone Adkins of 430 Lash Dr in Salisbury, NC died on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Winston Salem Baptist Hospital. He was born on July 10, 1955, to the late Jennie Rhem and Lawson Garrison.

Educated in Rowan County Schools, he graduated from Salisbury High School in 1973, where he participated in track and football. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 5 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother Jennie Rhem, grandmothers Luberta Adkins and Annie Garrison, and grandfather Willie Garrison.

Left to cherish his memory are his father Lawson; his 2 sons, Tyrone of Duluth GA, and Donavon Taylor of FL; his 6 sisters, Margaret Adkins of FL, Wylene Neely, Veronica Garrison, Phyllis Williams, Wanda Foxx, and Gail White of Salisbury, NC; his brothers, Larry, Zach, Dwight, Lance, and Denny Garrison; and a host of cousins and family.

A service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday April 3, 2024 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
