Richard Dwight Overman Sr

Richard Dwight Overman Sr. passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 79.

He was born on November 6, 1944, in Rowan County to the late Rebecca Spry Overman and Walter James Overman.

Richard went to the Rowan County Schools. He went on to work in the Utility Fiber Industries. He was a member of the Cooleemee Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Wayne Overman, Gene Overman, and James Overman.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sue Hodge Overman (married March 11, 1967); his son Richard Dwight Overman Jr. (Charlene); his daughters Sharon Denis Overman and Sheila Lyerly (Terry); his grandchildren Jurnee Morton, Tana Wilhelm (Wally), Sheena Lyerly, Todd Overcash, Scott Overcash, and Bobby Overcash; and 1 great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held Monday July 8, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 am at the Rowan Memorial Park Chapel, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. A graveside service will follow at 11:00.
