Robert Lee Amos

Robert Lee Amos of Salisbury, NC left this world on 9/20/2025 after a brief illness at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Bluefield, VA to Clarence Edward Amos and Ethel Johnson Amos, he attended Bluefield, VA schools.  Survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Thompson Amos, he served in the US Army 5th I.D. in Germany and Fort Carson, CO.  He was a carpenter by trade and last worked in the engineering department of the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.  He enjoyed fishing, flea marketing and repurposing, working on old cars, camping and traveling to his favorite spot of St. Augustine, FL.  

Also survived by Son Charles (Robby) Amos and wife Sheryl of Lexington, NC, Daughter Cynthia (Cyndi) Amos of Salisbury, NC, and Son Joe Amos and wife Angelia of Tyro, "adopted" daughter Katie Belton of Princeton, WV and Sister Diana Richardson of Wytheville, VA.  Also left to cherish his memory were his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  

The family would like to thank the staff at the VAMC in Salisbury, NC and Novant Hospice and Palliative Care in Salisbury, NC for providing compassionate care during this time.

Veteran's Honors Ceremony will be performed at 12:30PM on October 1, 2025, at the National Cemetery, VA Medical Center, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
