Robert Ernest Honeycutt passed away at Atrium Cabarrus Hospital on February 21st, 2026, at the age of 76.
He was born on March 23rd, 1949, in Burke County to the late John Lee Honeycutt and Lilly Honeycutt.
Robert’s hobbies included shag dancing, gospel music, and fishing. Retired from the NC National Guard, he worked at Celanese and General Electric in Salisbury.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Charles “Chuck” Honeycutt.
Left to cherish his memory is his son Robert E. Honeycutt Jr (Amanda) of Salisbury, NC; daughter Meredith M. Gaither (Craige) of Woodleaf, NC; sister Becky Haynes (J.R.) of Salisbury, NC; brothers Johnny Honeycutt (Angela) of Richfield, NC and Sam Honeycutt (Brooke) of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren Amber, Brandon, and Kaitlyn; and great grandchild Riley.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, at 2:30PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC, 28144 with military honors by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at 1:00-4:00 pm, with a dinner at 2:30 pm, at the Fellowship Hall of Union Luther Lutheran Church, 4770 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC. 28144.
