Robert Loy Sipes

Robert Loy Sipes was born on July 18, 1944 in Mooresville, NC to the late Ralph Easley Sipes and Ada Louise Lail. He married Glenda Roberst on September 21, 1963 in York County, SC. He later married Mildred Joyce Lyles on March 19, 1989. She passed away on April 22, 2014.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Lee Sipes.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert Loy Sipes, Jr., Carl Sipes, Roger Sipes, and Tuan Nguyen; step son, Michael Scott Justice; step daughter, Terry Denise Justice; brother, James Allen Sipes; step sisters, Maxine Best (late Gene) of Dallas, NC and Kathy Little (Marvin) of Conover, NC.

A service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
