Robert Millard Varnadore Sr.

Robert Millard Varnadore Sr. passed away at Compass Health and Rehab on May 6, 2026, at the age of 85.

He was born on August 8, 1940, in Rowan county, NC to the late Marie Jane Byrd Varnadore and Millard Shue.

Robert attended the schools of Rockwell, NC. He was employed in the Textile Industry and was a machine operator for Cartex Mills, as well as Collins and Aikman, before retiring. He was a member of the Nazarene Church of Salisbury.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Lucille Wagoner Varnadore of the home; sons Robert Millard Varnadore Jr. of China Grove and Donald Ray Varnadore of Salisbury; daughter Anna V. Stoner and her husband Richard Stoner Jr. of Salisbury; half sisters Mona Moss of Salisbury and Lorrie Olive of Rockwell; nine grandchildren; and over seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30 am on Tuesday May 12, 2026, at North Main Baptist Church, 1501 N Main St, Salisbury, NC 28144. Services will follow in the Sanctuary, conducted by Dr. Dale Robertson. Entombment will follow in Rowan Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
