Robert “Bobby” Edward Weaver

Robert “Bobby” Edward Weaver, 78, of Linwood, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children who kept their promise to care for him with unwavering devotion during his decline in health.

Bobby was born on June 9, 1947, in Davidson County, with a servant’s heart and a deep love for others. His life was defined by dedication, friendship, and family. He and his beloved wife, Brenda Weaver, shared 57 years of marriage, building a home defined by quiet devotion and where family always came first.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Bobby served honorably in the U.S. Army. Bobby devoted more than 20 years of service as a volunteer firefighter with the Churchland Fire Department, where he was once honored as Fireman of the Year. His commitment to helping others extended deeply into his involvement with the Spencer Moose Lodge, where he began as a member and rose to the role of Governor. In recognition of his outstanding dedication, Bobby received the Director’s Excellence Award.

Bobby enjoyed staying busy, often tinkering or fixing things and putting his skills to use. Those who knew him best said, “If Bobby was once your friend, he was always your friend.” He was dependable, kind, and someone others could always count on. Bobby was also well known for his love of dancing and impressive skill on the dance floor. Friends remember in his younger years, he kept a full dance card due to his talent.

Bobby was preceded in death by his mother and father, Evadene & HC Weaver; and brother, Kenneth Weaver.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Brenda Weaver; brother, David Weaver (Pam);  his daughter, Jessica Crabb; his son, Johnathan Weaver; his cherished grandchildren, Krysta Christ, Brittny Goforth (Travis), Randi Gibson, Brice Weaver (Kylee), and Nathan Rabon; beloved great-grandchildren, Gauge Goforth, Nash Goforth, and Eisley Christ; and many, many lifelong friends and extended family members.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Grove Baptist Church, 3462 Sowers Road, Linwood, NC 27299. The family will receive friends at the Weaver residence following the memorial service.
