Rodney Shaver Bolick, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at age 73 on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his residence in Salisbury.
Born in Greenville, SC on April 20, 1947, he was the son of the late Pauline Shaver and Marvin Bolick.
Rodney was a graduate of Carolina High School and Greenville Technical College in Greenville, SC. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Rodney worked as a lab technician for Hoechst-Celanese. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a church teller and a member of the Ron Sells Sunday School class. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Long Bolick, whom he married on February 14, 2003; son, David Clay Trexler, Jr. of Woodleaf; daughters, Alisa Jones (Michael) of Greenville, SC, Rhonda Nabors (Dwayne) of Easley, SC, Julie Bolick of Travelers Rest, SC, and Renee Beam (Greg) of Spencer, NC; sister, Debbie English of Liberty, SC; grandchildren, Hyland Sawyer, Kaitlin Jones, Colby Nabors, Annsley Nabors, Aiden Nabors, Jarrett Leopard, Shelby Leopard, Isabella Bolick, Lucas Beam, and Abbey Beam; great-grandchildren, McKenna and Wyatt Scott.
Visitation: 3:30-4:30 PM Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2255 E. Ridge Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144.
Service: 4:30 PM Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Faw officiating. A private graveside service will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard at Salisbury National Cemetery.
The family requests that masks be worn at the visitation and service.

Rodney loved NASCAR, concerts, Clemson Tigers, gardening, and going on trips with the love of his life, Donna. He loved being around family and friends, even after losing his voice to cancer.
