Ruth Cannon Pope, 78, of Salisbury went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday April 9, 2021, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston Salem.
Born April 19, 1942 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Annie Marie Parker Cannon and the late Arthur Burns Cannon.
Ruth was a homemaker and had been a resident of the Elmcroft Assisted Living Center of Salisbury. She enjoyed attending church at Gospel Light Baptist Church, crocheting and helping other residents at the Elmcroft when she was able.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Darleen Reavis, Joyce Cannon, Leon Cannon, Gene Cannon, Irvin Cannon, Richard Cannon and Jay Cannon
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Edna Parker (Larry) of China Grove, niece Tammie Foster (Steve) of China Grove and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday April 14, 2021 at the Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
Service: 2:00 PM Wednesday April 14, 2021 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines with the Rev. Anthony Wikes of Gospel Light Baptist Church to officiate service. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank all the Elmcroft Staff for the care they provided for Ruth in her years as a resident at the facility. The family is also very appreciative of the care and compassion shown by Trellis Support of Salisbury and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House of Winston Salem.
