Sally Wilson Ragland Crews

Sally Mae (Wilson) (Ragland) Crews passed peacefully from this world to her heavenly reward, the morning of 3/28/23. She was born 8/13/32.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel “Baxter” and Leta (Negaard) Wilson; her first husband, Emmett Ragland, and her second husband, Lenny Crews; her sister, Harriett (Wilson) Terry, and brother, Samuel Baxter Wilson, II.

She is survived by her 3 daughters: Leta (Jeff) Laugle, Susan (Bill) Jackson, and Patti (Brent) Lyerly; and 2 grandchildren: Andy (Sabrina) Jackson and Anne Marie Jackson; and 4 great grandchildren: Skylar, Jayden, Rayland, and Bryant.

She captained the State Champion Girls Basketball team from Halifax High School. She earned an associate degree from Peace College, (William Peace University) in Raleigh, NC. She worked her professional career as a legal secretary for Don Bagwell Sr. for 30+ years, until his passing, for the law firm of Tuck, Bagwell, Dillard, and Mapp, in Halifax, VA.

Her funeral will be held at Pleasant Grove Church, 2154 Pleasant Grove Rd., Halifax, VA 24558, on Sunday 4/2/23, at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in kind to Pleasant Grove Church in her name for the general fund, and/or Sentara Hospice Care in Halifax County Virginia.
