Teresa Darlene (Whitley) Mercer

Teresa Darlene Whitley Mercer, 55, of Linwood, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022.

Darlene was born April 19, 1967 in Guilford County to the late Robert Darrell Whitley & the late Judy Thomas Whitley. She was a graduate of West Rowan High School and Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. When Darlene retired, she had spent several fulfilling years working as a care coordinator in the special needs community. Prior to that she had worked as a Methodist youth minister. During her retirement, Darlene enjoyed working with dogs as the owner of her own dog-sitting business and she loved to cook.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Robert & Anthony), her sister Salena Donovan and her niece, Kandy Hall Brock.

Survivors are her husband, John Mercer of the home; a niece Amber Duren (Patrick) of Archdale, NC and three great-nephews (Zachary Brock, Timothy Brock and Xavier Duren).

Arrangements: The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Landmark Church located at1910 Mooresville Rd, Salisbury, NC. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church auditorium and will be followed by the burial at Floral Gardens Memorial Park in High Point, NC.
