Terry Woodson Lingle

Terry Woodson Lingle, 89, of Salisbury passed away on Monday July 17, 2023, at The Laurels of Salisbury.

Born in Rowan County on May 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Ruby Elizabeth Wise and Oscar Theodore Lingle Sr.

Terry went to school at Mt Ulla High School then went on to become an owner/operator truck driver. He  worked other places but retired from Johnson Concrete. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and served in many positions within the church. He enjoyed flying and was a solo pilot and a member of The Cloud Clapper Club. He had a love for Model T cars and was in The Horseless Carriage Club. He was a member of The Spencer Moose Lodge. Terry enjoying dancing, operating heavy equipment, and tinkering with cars and tractors. He and his wife Kathryn traveled across the country camping, making memories along the way. They took several yearly beach trips fishing with family. Family time was also spent boating at the river, playing and having fun.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn J. Lingle and brother Oscar Theodore Lingle Jr. .

Left to cherish his memory is his  son Nelson Terry Lingle (Cathy), daughters Sheila Hoffman (Hank), Patricia Easley, grandchildren Lori Pullium (Will), Amy Hoffman, H.A. Hoffman (Raina), Becca Jo Brouillard (Ryan), Noah Easley (Courtney), Cory Lingle (Whitney), Isaac Lingle, Casey Wall (Brandon) with 12 great grandchildren, brothers John Lingle, Cecil Lingle sisters Evelyn (Peggy) Schenk, Kathleen Kepley.

Visitation to be held on Thursday July 20, 2023, 2:30 – 3:45 pm at Salem Lutheran Church Parlor.

Funeral service: 4:00 pm  Thursday July 20, 2023, with Pastor Dawn Rister officiating. Then burial to follow in church cemetery.
