It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thelma Ann Freeman Thompson, who died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 28th at the age of 86, with her beloved daughter Angie by her side. Thelma was known for her warmth, boundless kindness, and a compassionate spirit that touched everyone she met, making each person feel truly seen and valued; to know Thelma was to love her.
Her greatest joy was the profound and unbreakable bond she shared with Angie. More than just mother and daughter, they were the best of friends, sharing a lifetime of laughter, unwavering support, and a love that remains eternal. Thelma was pre-deceased by her daughter Andrea Lynne and husband Thomas A Thompson. Thelma is survived by her sons, Richard Hinceman and Butch Hinceman, her sisters Catherin Cannon and Betty (Abby) Gerardi, and her devoted son-in-law, Bob Ferer, whom she cherished deeply. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and many nieces and a nephew too numerous to mention.
An avid enthusiast of life’s quieter pleasures, Thelma could often be found at her kitchen table with a crossword puzzle or engrossed in a true crime drama. Her home was a sanctuary for animals, reflecting her deep empathy for all living creatures, especially her adoring cat Missy, who was her pride and joy.
In keeping with Thelma’s wishes, there will be no memorial services at this time. However, her daughter plans to do a Celebration of Her Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Thelma’s memory to your local humane society honoring her lifelong devotion to animals.
