Vada Marie Peacock Byars Cameron, age 104, of China Grove, died on May 17, 2024, at Autumn Care.
She was born on December 1, 1919, in Davidson County. She was the daughter of the late Rosina Carrick Peacock and Thomas Jefferson Peacock.
She was educated in the Davidson County School and was a homemaker. She was a member of South China Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Vada is preceded in death by her first husband Mack William Byars Sr.; her second husband William Jesse Cameron; her son Mack William Byars Jr.; her brothers Gerthie Peacock and Edward Peacock of Denton, NC; her half-brother Harvey Owens of Lexington, NC; her sister Leona Anderson of Lexington, NC; her granddaughter Megan Michelle Bonds; and her grandsons Jamie Linn Rabon, James Todd Cameron, and Noah Wayne Cameron;
Left to cherish her memory are her sons “Garry” Wayne Cameron (and wife Kim), James “Nathan” Cameron (and wife Ruth), William “Douglas” Cameron (and wife Terry), “Johnny” Jeffrey Cameron (and wife Crystal), all of Salisbury; her daughters Brenda Kay Cameron (of the home), Kathy Cameron Southard ( and husband Dale), Nancy Cameron Wilhelm (and husband Tim), all of Salisbury, and Judy Cameron Campbell (and husband Jim) of Wilkesboro; her 16 grandchildren, her 18 great-grandchildren, and her 8 great-great grandchildren.
A service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday May 25, 2024, at South China Grove Baptist Church, 501 Haney St, China Grove, NC 28023. Officiating will be Rev. Curtis Parker. Memorials in Vada’s honor can be made to South China Grove Baptist Church.
