Vanonda (Cris) Crisco Hamby

Vanonda (Cris) Crisco Hamby passed away at Trinity Oaks Health & Rehab on April 8, 2025, at the age of 97.

She was born on April 14, 1927, in Stanly County to the late Thomas and Clita Russell Crisco.

Cris was a graduate of Albemarle High School and the Rowan Hospital Nursing School. Early in her life she worked at the Rowan Hospital. Cris was a member of Ebeneezer United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charlie Hamby (passed away 9-23-2012) and 8 siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Paul Hamby of Salisbury, her sister Jeraldine Causby of Albemarle, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Officiating will be Mark McCracklin of the Ebenezer Church of Mt. Ulla.
