Virginia Eloise Blackwell passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 82.
She was born on May 15, 1941, in Rowan County to the late Claude Eugene Almond and Rosa Bell Page.
Virginia was a retired cafeteria supervisor with the Rowan County Schools. She loved flowers, birds, and animals. She was an avid crocheter and enjoyed making toboggans for Rowan Helping Ministries. She was of Baptist Faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury, NC.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Blackwell; her brother Ralph Almond; and her sister Peggy Collins.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Linda Crouch (Richard) and Diane Owens (Joey), both of Rockwell; her son Robert Blackwell of Salisbury; her 4 grandchildren, Dean Crouch (Andrea), Alston Owens (Rachel), Kaitlin Petterson (Matt), and Josh Owens; and her special friend Bobby Harrington of Mooresville.
There will be a private family graveside service on Thursday May 9, 2024, at Rowan Memorial Park 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Officiating will be Rev Jim Vickrey.
