William Dean Bridges

William Dean Bridges passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on February 07, 2026, at the age of 83.

He was born on May 04, 1942, in Rutherford County to the late Joseph Ray Atchley and Maude McDade Atchley.

Bill was a student at Mineral Springs High School in Winston-Salem, NC. He worked as a Fire Inspector for the Winston-Salem Fire Department and was the Director of Safety and Security at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem. He was an active member in his church, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC. In his free time, Bill loved playing golf and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Faith Wraight Bridges of Spencer; sons Gene McDade Bridges of Winston-Salem, Jeffrey W. Owen of Statesville, and Christopher Todd Owen of Sanford; and sisters Denise M. Moore of Malvern, PA, Nina M. Brueckner of Joplin, MO, Joyce M. Morris of Pottstown, PA, and Dawn M. Sproat of Royersford, PA.

There is no service scheduled at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made in the honor of Bill Bridges to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2300 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146.
