William “Bill” Crider, 84, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
Born in Rowan County on February 24, 1936 he was the son of the late Willie S. Crider and Mable L. Lipe Crider.
Bill attended Boyden High School and also served his country in the United States Army.
He retired as a panel operator from Hoechst Celanese in 1998 after 29 years of service.
Bill loved to bass fish and had fished in several tournaments, loved to bird hunt and was a jack of all trades and especially loved to work with his hands building things.
William was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bernice” Bunny” Crider whom he married June 4, 1967,
Step-son; Eric Lee Howard (Shelia) of Woodleaf, Step-daughter; Karon Frances Burton (Raymond) of Wilkesboro , brother; Lloyd Crider (Elizabeth) of Salisbury, sister in law and brother in law; Jacquie Knight (Charles) of Greenville, TN, grandchildren; Brandon, Brooke and Summer; step-grandchildren, Tabitha Rinehardt and Christopher Rinehardt; 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Service: A graveside service will be held Tuesday March 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144, with the Rev. Ken Reynolds officiating, military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard.
