William Holshouser Obituary

William P. Holshouser, 34 years of age Salisbury, NC 3/29/1991 - 2/16/2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with him, we announce the passing of William P. Holshouser (Billy), a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend. William departed this world on February 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of joy, creativity, and love. Born on March 29, 1991, in the vibrant city of Jacksonville, Florida, Billy was the cherished son of Jeff Holshouser and Patty Coffman-Jones, and the beloved stepson of Robin Holshouser. From an early age, Billy exhibited a curiosity and zest for life that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him. His family, including his surviving siblings Amanda Harbison and Jenny Gravel, as well as his late sister Beth Thomas, were his first canvas, as he shared endless laughter, support, and warmth with them. He also leaves behind in Patrick’s care his favorite dog, Kodah Bear. William's heart found its perfect match when he married Patrick Kertz on a beautiful Christmas Day, December 25, 2021. Their union was a testament to love's enduring power and the joy of having a partner who truly understands and treasures you.

William's professional journey was marked by hard work and dedication, as he worked alongside his father in maintenance at Hitachi Metals NC in China Grove, NC, and later at Sheetz in Salisbury, NC. His career path eventually led him to the Macy’s Distribution Center in China Grove, NC, where his diligent work ethic was both appreciated and admired. William's passions extended far beyond his career. He was an avid supporter and fan of Lady Gaga, whose music and artistry resonated deeply with him. His creative soul found expression through various artistic projects, whether it be through drawing with diverse mediums or experimenting with transformative cosmetics. Additionally, William was a devoted collector of uranium glass, a hobby that reflected his love for beauty and history. Those who knew William remember his humor and wit, qualities that could light up any room and bring joy to even the darkest day. His ability to make others laugh was unparalleled, but it was his empathy and determination to alleviate the pain of others that truly set him apart. William possessed a rare gift for understanding the struggles of those around him and worked tirelessly to offer solutions and comfort. Billy was especially fond of “specials” dogs like possessing an underbite, minus a leg, or missing half on one ear. In honor of William's generous spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the 15/10 Foundation, an organization close to his heart helping to cover the medical costs for shelter dogs and make them adoptable. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Forsyth Medical Center and the Novant Health Hospice. Their unwavering support, tender care, and respect for the family's wishes during William's final days provided solace and comfort beyond measure. If you or someone you know can benefit from grief support contact the Novant Health Hospice at 704-210-7900. Though William's earthly journey has come to an end, the love and laughter he shared with all who knew him will remain forever in our hearts. As we celebrate his life, we are reminded of the joy he brought into the world and the legacy of kindness and creativity he leaves behind.  Rest in peace, dear William. You will be missed dearly, but never forgotten.
