Betty Kern David Stafford, 76, of Salisbury passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis.
She was born on January 8, 1942 in Cabarrus County to the late Lord and Christina David
Mrs. Stafford was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and attended Appalachian State University, later receiving a degree in business. She met and later married her soulmate, Jerry Charles Stafford in July of 1963. The couple lived life to the fullest, with unconditional love as husband and wife. Betty and Jerry had two children; a daughter, Jeri and son, David who meant the world to Betty. As a young adult, Betty was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The couple knew what the future might hold, but they didn’t let M.S. stop them from enjoying life together.
Betty loved spending time with her family. She and Jerry both enjoyed square dancing, camping, and traveling. The couple were members of Coburn United Methodist Church. Betty loved to sing and she also taught Sunday School.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry C. Stafford; daughter, Jeri Lyna Stafford; son, David Stafford (Cynthia Henry); five grandchildren, Tabitha and Lyná Spillman, Savannah Stafford and Alyssa and J.J. Zboral; three great-grandchildren, Kane and Hannah Holloway and Drannin Gooden.
Visitation: 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Coburn United Methodist Church, 901 S. Church St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday at Coburn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Perry Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
