David Ian Buckley Sr., 57, Kannapolis, NC, passed away at home on April 11, 2018, after a long fight with liver cancer. He was surrounded by all his loved ones, as he took his journey home!
David was born July 18, 1960, in Buffalo, NY to the late Albert Mayall Buckley and Doris Bagnal Buckley. He was a graduate of Frontier High School in Hamburg, NY and worked as a CNC Engineer. He was a veteran of the US Army (1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery Regiment – Fire Support Specialist) where he reached the rank of Sergeant.
David was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan, loved to travel and play a round of golf, but most importantly family was everything to him and he enjoyed spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Kerr, as well as many beloved family and dear friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tammy Buckley, married on March 24, 2018; daughters, Jennifer Roberts (Matthew) and JamieLynn Honeycutt (Michael); son, David Ian Buckley, Jr. (girlfriend Savannah Watson); grandchildren, Bayleigh, Rylea, Landon, & Fynnley Roberts and Noah, Connor and Presley Honeycutt; brother, John Buckley and his family; lifelong partner, Laurie Buckley (ex-wife).
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11600 Adames Way, Mt Pleasant, NC 28124.
Service: 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, North Carolina 28144 with military rites performed by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
