Paula Preslar Obituary

Paula Jo Chamberlain Preslar, 48, wife, mother, and dear friend to all, courageously lost her battle to cancer on Wednesday August 29, 2018. Despite the rapid decline in her health, she was determined to never lose her sense of self. She kept her spunk and quick wit about her no matter how dispiriting times became.

Paula was born November 20, 1969 and raised in Beckley, West Virginia. While a West Virginia girl at heart, she later relocated to Ohio for a brief time where she raised her 3 children. Looking to further pursue her passion in culinary arts, she again relocated to North Carolina. She gained many friends and a respected reputation enthusiastically serving and cooking food for those within the community. After years of residing there, she met Michael Preslar. Quickly hitting it off, they were happily married soon after in the special month of November. When she wasn't busy cooking up a scrumptious meal for a neighbor, friend, coworker, or family member, she and Mike would frequently take trips on his motorcycle, enjoying one another's company and making memories with those closest to them. Upon Paula's persistence and hard work, Mike generously contributed to making her dreams of furthering her career in culinary entrepreneurship come true. By June 1st, 2015, Mike and Paula were proud owners of Mike and Paula's Eatery in Salisbury. It was there, that they were known to happily greet and serve locals and always received wonderful reviews on their service.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, William "Floyd" Adkins and Mary Adkins. Left to commemorate her memory she leaves behind, loving husband, Mike Preslar, daughters, Megan Cooper and Brittini Wiley, son, Tyler Wiley, step-daughter, Amy Wagoner and husband Steven Wagoner, step-son, Michael Preslar and wife Amy Preslar, and  step-sons Braylen and Brisen Preslar.

Also left to treasure Paula's memory she leaves behind, her dear sister, Darlene and husband Jimmy Brower, devoted twin brother, Joey Adkins and wife Tricia, and eldest brother, Will Adkins and wife Niki, grandson, Jace Daniels, granddaughter, Nora Kiko, step-granddaughter, Sara Wagoner Tate, step-grandson, Nolan Wagoner, and step-granddaughter, Kriestin Preslar, also is survived by nieces, Morgan Boger, Kiersten Brower, nephews, Derek Brower, Parker Adkins, Chase Adkins, and Brett Adkins.
